Job summary

The Laurels of University Park in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced RN Manager to lead and teach nursing staff in our skilled nursing facility.

You will supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs and others, review procedures, assess care systems, develop plans of care, and ensure high-quality resident outcomes through effective nursing leadership and staff development.

Qualifications

• Current RN license required.
• CPR certification current; nursing specialty certification desired.
• Management or supervision experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs and CNAs.
• Reviews and implements nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates systems facilitating quality resident care and staff performance.
• Uses systematic nursing process to provide individualized care.
• Contributes to resident assessment (MDS/CAA) and care plan development.
• Develops and implements plans of care based on assessments.
• Evaluates resident responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands medication rationale and ensures correct administration.

Job description

Are you an experienced RN with a passion for leading and teaching other skilled nursing staff? The RN Manager provides, plans, coordinates or manages nursing care and health education for nursing home residents.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and others
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality resident care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the resident’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plan of care.
• Develops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.
• Evaluates the resident’s responses to nursing interventions.
• Knows the rationale for the effect of medications and treatments and correctly administers the same.

Qualifications:

• Current state license as an RN.
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing desired.
