Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an OR RN at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, FL. The role requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience with a preference for at least 1 year of Operating Room experience. BLS is mandatory; ACLS if required by the department.

The position is full-time and in-person, with shift from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM. You will work within a dynamic surgical team, providing nursing care to sub-specialty patient groups and supporting clinical standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.
• 2 years RN acute care experience is required.
• 1 year OR experience preferred for consideration.
• BLS certification required; ACLS if department requires it.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent care for a sub-specialty group of patients using the nursing process and standards.
• Delegate patient care activities to healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Maintain professional accountability and contribute to development per national standards.
• May serve as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.

Summary:

The Operating Room RN responsibilities include:

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards


• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team


• RN is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization


• RN also preforms the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience. For this position, we strongly prefer at least 1 year Operating Room experience as an RN for consideration.
