Job summary

BayCare Health System, Surgery-WHH in Winter Haven, is seeking an Operating Room RN for a full-time, in-person role. The position features a 9:00 AM–5:30 PM shift, with on-call responsibilities and occasional variations.

The OR team cares for sub-specialty surgical patients using nursing processes and clinical standards. Applicants should have a minimum of two years as an RN (one year in OR preferred), hold BLS and RN licensure (ACLS if required by department), and CNOR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of RN experience; at least 1 year in Operating Room preferred.
• BLS, RN licensure required; ACLS if department requires.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• RN ensures professional accountability and development per best practice standards.
• RN serves as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

Position Details

• Location: Winter Haven Hospital
• Status: Fulltime
• Shift: 10 hr shift; Primarily 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM but start/end times may vary
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person

Summary

The Operating Room RN responsibilities include:

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• RN is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• RN is also performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of two years of experience as an RN. For this position, we strongly prefer at least 1 year RN experience in the Operating Room for consideration. Shift will primarily be 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM however start and end times may vary.
