MetroHealth Main Campus Emergency Department seeks a Registered Nurse for the Level 1 Trauma Center. The role involves patient assessments, triage, trauma care, IV insertion, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. Gold-standard nursing practice and timely decision-making are essential.

Requirements include OH RN license, BLS/ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and at least 1 year of RN experience for PRN. Shift: 7p–7a with rotating weekends/holidays; 72 hours biweekly.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or pursuing accreditation.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS, ACLS (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
• PALS certification or within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC certification or within 1 year of hire.
• NIHSS stroke certification or within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year RN experience.

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Lantern Award
• Stroke Certified

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
• NRP Certification
