MetroHealth Main Campus Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a Level 1 Trauma Center team. You will conduct patient assessments, triage, and trauma care for acutely ill pediatric to adult patients, performing IV insertions, blood draws, and catheterization as part of a collaborative care model.

Responsibilities include prioritizing patient care, coordinating with LPNs, Paramedics, PCNAs, BOs and providers, and adhering to rotating weekend/holiday schedules on a 12-hour

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
• PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

• Administer IVs, draw blood, and Foley catheter insertion as needed.
• Maintain time management and critical thinking in a fast-paced shift.

• Rotating weekends and holidays on 12-hour shifts.

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
• NRP Certification
