Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus – Glick in Ohio is seeking an experienced RN to join the Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. You will perform patient assessments, triage acutely ill patients, and deliver trauma care during 12-hour night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

You will work alongside LPNs, PCNAs, paramedics, BOs and providers, maintaining critical time management and precise nursing skills such as IV insertions and blood draws.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage in the ED.
• Provide trauma care including IV insertion and labs.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, BOs and providers to deliver care.
• Manage patient flow during busy shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
• NRP Certification
