Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join our Level 1 Trauma Center. RN candidates will perform patient assessments, triage, and trauma care in a high-volume ED with 93 beds and 10 trauma bays. The role involves 7p-7a shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements include Ohio RN licensure, BLS/ACLS in 90 days, PALS and TNCC within specified timelines, and NIHSS certification as applicable. We offer competitive benefits and OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessments and triage in a Level 1 Trauma Center ED.
• Perform trauma care procedures and invasive skills (IVs, blood draws, Foley).
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers to deliver timely care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually
