MetroHealth Main Campus Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Level 1 Trauma Center. You will perform patient assessments, triage, trauma care, IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion, and collaborate with LPNs, Paramedics, PCNAs and providers to deliver timely, high‑quality care.

Ohio RN licensure and current BLS/ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications are required or obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; RN licensure in Ohio required.
• Current BLS, ACLS; PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications to be obtained within specified timelines.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience; PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

• Perform patient assessments and triage in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
• Provide trauma care and timely interventions for acutely ill patients.
• Perform IV insertion, blood draws, and Foley catheter insertions.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and effective delegation.
• Collaborate with LPNs, Paramedics, PCNAs, BOs and providers to ensure quality care.

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Lantern Award
• Stroke Certified

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
• NRP Certification
