Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department at the Main Campus. You will assess acutely ill patients, perform triage, and deliver high-quality trauma care around the clock.

Responsibilities include IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter placement, and rapid clinical decision-making while coordinating with LPNs, Paramedics, PCNAs, BOs and providers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually
