Job summary

Ascension is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the Night shift at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in the Stepdown Intermediate Care PCU. This full-time role provides critical bedside care and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

You’ll monitor patients, implement care plans, and support discharge planning while adhering to clinical standards. Minimum requirements include Florida RN license and BLS; acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required or to be obtained prior to hire.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of acute care bedside experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care by following established clinical standards and organizational protocols.
• Manage individualized patient care plans by monitoring health progress and adapting interventions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams as the central point of contact for patient care.
• Execute medical orders with accuracy and document physician/nurse directives.
• Assist with discharge planning to prepare patients for home and ensure smooth transitions.

• Manage individualized patient care plans by continually monitoring health progress and adapting interventions to ensure optimal recovery and treatment outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams as the central point of contact, ensuring seamless communication and highly integrated care for every patient.
• Execute medical orders with precision, accurately noting and carrying out physician and nursing directives to maintain a safe, continuous healing environment.
• Champion smooth patient transitions by proactively assessing and planning for discharge needs alongside the healthcare team, setting patients up for success at home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
