Job summary

Ascension's Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL seeks a registered nurse to join the NICU on the day shift. You will provide expert patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support evidence-based practices to improve outcomes.

The role requires a Florida RN license, BLS, a Bachelor's in Nursing, and 2 years of NICU-related experience (5 years preferred).

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date; acceptable from ARC or AHA.
• RN credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Minimum 2 years applicable NICU experience; 5 years preferred.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred; NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clinical leaders and caregivers to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
• Identify quality, safety, and professional development gaps and help create improvement plans.
• Analyze quality and patient safety data to guide evidence-based nursing practice.
• Support Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) projects, including updating order sets, guidelines, and clinical practices.
• Coach and mentor staff through unit rounding while helping incorporate research and best practices into patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross or American Heart Association accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Work Experience

• 2 years applicable experience required.
• 5 years preferred.

Additional Preferences

• Registered Nurse Education experience
