Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is hiring for a perioperative RN in the Surgery department. You will perform scrub and circulating duties, assist the surgeon with tasks such as hemostasis and suturing, and help position patients. You will also prepare ORs and instruments to support safe, efficient procedures.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, a nursing diploma, and relevant experience. The position supports a rotating/PRN schedule and belongs to a nonprofit Catholic health system

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required prior to hire or transfer date.
• Compact State license recognition preferred.
• Nursing diploma or equivalent licensure required at time of hire.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience.

• Perform circulating functions: monitor patient condition and nursing care before, during, after procedures.
• Assist operating physician with hemostasis, suturing and patient positioning.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

One Or More Of The Following

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• at least one year OR experience
