Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory PACU department to work a day shift in a full-time capacity. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, patient assessment, pain management, and anticipating needs during perioperative care.

Required Florida RN licensure with possible ACLS/BLS as applicable; one year of RN experience is required with PACU/critical care exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One year of experience as a Staff Registered Nurse is required.
• Previous experience in a critical care or PACU setting is preferred.

• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

One Or More Of The Following

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• One year of experience as a Staff Registered Nurse is required.
• Previous experience in a critical care or PACU setting is preferred.
