Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Recovery Room on day shift, full-time basis. You will coordinate daily staffing, supervise nursing and support staff, and lead post-anesthesia care improvements to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Minimum requirements include Florida RN licensure and BLS certification, with eligibility for a Florida license and compact state recognition as applicable. A supportive benefits package is provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily unit staffing, assign population-appropriate patient loads, and provide active clinical leadership to ensure seamless workflow and quality care standards.
• Direct, educate, and supervise nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Continuously assess the effectiveness of post-anesthesia patient care, identifying and resolving operational or clinical barriers that impact patient outcomes.
• Address and manage patient care complaints or operational issues through established organizational protocols to maintain high standards of patient satisfaction and safety.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
