Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Surgical PCU in Pensacola, FL. This full-time night shift role requires a Florida RN license and BLS. You will provide high-quality nursing care, coordinate care plans, and support patient discharge planning.

Minimum 1 year acute care bedside experience, with PCU experience preferred. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential for seamless patient care in this fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required prior to hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma in nursing or higher.
• Minimum 1 year acute care bedside experience; PCU preferred.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care by following established clinical standards and organizational protocols to maximize patient safety and comfort.
• Manage individualized patient care plans by continually monitoring health progress and adapting interventions to ensure optimal recovery and treatment outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams as the central point of contact, ensuring seamless communication and highly integrated care for every patient.
• Execute medical orders with precision, accurately noting and carrying out physician and nursing directives to maintain a safe, continuous healing environment.
• Champion smooth patient transitions by proactively assessing and planning for discharge needs alongside the healthcare team, setting patients up for success at home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• At least a year of acute care bedside experience.
• Prior PCU experience
