Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Anderson is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Stepdown unit in Anderson, Indiana. The role is on-site, night shift, full time, with a schedule of 6:00pm - 6:30am and every third weekend plus rotating holidays.

The nurse will monitor patient recovery, coordinate with the care team, and translate orders into hands-on high-acuity care, guiding families toward safe discharge and recovery.

Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN license prior to hire date.
• BLS certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Diploma in nursing or equivalent licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor complex patient recovery and adapt care plans for safe transitions.
• Coordinate between physicians, therapists and specialists for unified care.
• Execute clinical orders with precision for high-acuity patients.

• Manage complex patient recovery journeys by continuously monitoring physiological changes and adapting care plans to ensure safety during the critical transition toward healing.
• Advocate for patient needs by serving as the central coordinator between physicians, therapists, and specialists, ensuring a unified and high-quality approach to treatment.
• Execute clinical orders with precision and foresight, translating medical instructions into compassionate, hands-on care for patients with high-acuity needs.
• Facilitate a confident transition home by assessing discharge readiness and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide patients and families with the tools they need for a successful recovery.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
