Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist for the Adult ER at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on developing and evaluating nursing education programs for the ER and supports clinical competency across the organization.

You will collaborate with leaders, design & implement educational plans, and ensure learning outcomes meet licensure and quality standards, with travel to Anderson at least once weekly.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• RN credentialed with Indiana Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Facility: Ascension St. Vincent

Department/Specialty: Clinical Professional Development | Adult ER

Schedule: Full time days | Monday though Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Collaborate with leaders and staff to assess nursing educational needs and competencies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing and clinical educational plans/programs.
• Utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
• Consult on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Nursing Professional Development (NPD) programs and performance processes that support core nursing and clinical competency across the organization.
• Manage performance and competency standards for inter-professional programs to support practice at the highest extent of licensure.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing

Work Experience

• Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Will travel to Anderson at least one day a week.
• Must have at least 3 years RN experience in an Adult ER.
• Must have some education experience (preceptor, supervisor, or charge RN) and have a desire to educate.
