Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced RN for its Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at the Main Campus. The role supports multiple units with rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring continuous patient care coverage across complex medical-surgical patients.

Qualified candidates hold an Ohio RN license, are BLS certified, and have inpatient RN experience. The pool offers industry-leading benefits and a pathway to professional growth within a public health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float across units: Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine.
• Provide RN care including IV placement, blood draws, catheter care and wound care.
• Maintain patient safety, accurate documentation, and care plans while delegating tasks as appropriate.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
