Job summary

MetroHealth's Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide versatile bedside care across units at MetroHealth Main Campus - Glick. You will collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers to maintain high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of inpatient RN experience; BSN and Magnet certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BLS-HCP certification or obtained within 90 days of hire; ACLS as applicable.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float to units such as Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine.
• Perform IV placement, blood draws, Foley insertion/removal, and tracheostomy care as needed.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT and WOCN to coordinate patient care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
