Job summary

MetroHealth seeks qualified Registered Nurses to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at our Main Campus. The role involves floating to Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine units. RNs will perform IVs, blood draws, foley care, airway and wound care, and collaborate with diverse care teams.

Required Ohio RN licensure and BLS. PRN requires 1 year of inpatient RN experience. BSN and Magnet certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible for Ohio RN licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider in Ohio.
• PRN requires 1 year of inpatient RN experience; relocation not stated.

Responsibilities

• Float among Acute Care Adult Specialty units including Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine.
• Perform RN duties: IV placement, blood draws, Foley, tracheostomy care, NG/PEG, and wound care.
• Coordinate with LPNs, PCNAs, and other care team members; demonstrate time management and critical thinking.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
