Job summary

MetroHealth in Ohio is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at the MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick.

You will float to units such as Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic and Trauma Step Down, delivering high-quality patient care during rotating shifts.

The role requires current Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and strong clinical skills in IV placement, blood draws and wound care; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience (PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience)
• Preferred: BSN
• Professional certification recognized by Magnet Association (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Float among units including Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN
• Provide timely, accurate nursing care and patient safety
• Manage time efficiently and delegate tasks as needed

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine
