Job summary

MetroHealth seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. You will cover Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down and General Medicine units, with frequent IV placement, foley care, and critical thinking under time constraints.

Required are Ohio RN licensure and BLS. Rotating shifts include 7p-7a and 7a-7p, with weekends and holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• BLS/CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire; 1 year inpatient RN experience.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float to Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down and General Medicine.
• Provide nursing care including IV placement, blood draws, catheter care, and wound care.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT and WOCN.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
