Job summary

MetroHealth seeks an experienced RN to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at the MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. The role covers a variety of units and complex medical disorders, utilizing IV placement, blood draws, and wound care.

Rotating shifts include primary 7pm–7am and secondary 7am–7pm with weekends and holidays. Requires Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and 1 year inpatient RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float between units: Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, and WOCN.
• Provide high-quality patient-centered nursing care across units.
• Maintain time management, critical thinking, and prioritization in fast-paced settings.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
