Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool. You will provide care across Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine units during rotating shifts (7p-7a primary, 7a-7p secondary) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold Ohio RN licensure, have BLS for healthcare providers, and prefer 1 year inpatient RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• BLS for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float across Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down and General Medicine units.
• Provide patient care with strong time management, critical thinking and delegation.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Providers, PT/OT, and WOCN.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
