Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool at the MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick location in Columbus, OH. You will provide high-quality patient care across multiple units during rotating shifts, including 7p-7a and 7a-7p with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year of inpatient RN experience. PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; program seeking accreditation accepted.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers or obtained within 90 days.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience; PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float across units: Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine.
• Provide bedside nursing care, IVs, assessments, and patient advocacy.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Providers and other team members.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
