Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced RN to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool. This role covers primary patient populations across Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine units.

The position requires Ohio RN licensure and BLS, with 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred. Rotating shifts (7p-7a, 7a-7p) and rotating weekends/holidays are included, with tuition reimbursement and strong benefits available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float to units including Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine.
• Provide clinical skills such as IV placement, blood draws, and catheter care.
• Perform tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube care, drains, and wound care.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and delegation.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
