Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a professional nurse to provide high-quality nursing care for SIH patients across multiple units. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with the health care team, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in patient education and safety initiatives. On-site shifts with varied coverage and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire where applicable.
• Experience in ICU, PCU, or ED settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment for emotional support to patients and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to respond to changes in condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Contribute to policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed staff as appropriate.
• Advocate for patients by communicating with health service professionals.
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency.
