Job summary

St. Joseph Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Recovery Room on the day shift. You will provide professional nursing care to SIH patients and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Required qualifications include an RN license, CPR/BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and unit-specific certifications; a nursing degree at associate or higher is preferred. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois or applicable state with current CPR/BLS.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire; TNCC/PALS/NRP required as applicable by unit.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree preferred for professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to support patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimum health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and report changes in patient condition promptly.
• Complete accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Support patient safety and quality of care through policy input.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Act as a patient advocate through collaboration with health professionals.
• Float to other SIH units within competency.
