Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing care for patients in Carbondale, IL. You will assist with vital signs, daily activities, and basic comfort measures under supervision, while maintaining accurate charting.

Responsibilities include responding quickly in emergencies, documenting changes in patient conditions, and communicating with registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Completion of CNA training and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities (vital signs, intake/output, bathing, feeding, toileting).
• Assist in medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Timely communication of changes in patient condition to RN/LPN.
• Timely completion of delegated tasks from RN/LPN.
• Advocate for the patient and collaborate with health service personnel.
• Complete required education and competencies timely.
• Cross-train to telemetry tech if department needs.
