Job summary

SIH seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing care for patients. You will help with vital signs, intake/output, bathing, feeding, and toileting, and assist in emergencies including CPR. Accurate charting and timely communication with RNs and LPNs are essential.

Cross-training to telemetry may be required. Completion of an Illinois approved CNA program and BLS is required; compensation is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or completed a nursing arts course (e.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101, etc)
• BLS

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.
• Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR
• Completes accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record
• Communicates changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse in a timely manner
• Completes delegated tasks from the Registered Nurse in a timely manner
• Advocates for patients by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
• Completes required education and competencies in a timely manner
• Cross-trains to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs
