Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing care for patients. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and communicating changes to the RN or LPN.

The role requires completion of an Illinois CNA program and BLS; training in telemetry as needed. Eligible candidates will perform timely documentation in the patient record, assist in emergencies, and advocate for patient needs while

Qualifications

• Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or has successfully completed a nursing arts course.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities (vital signs, intake/output, bathing, feeding, toileting).
• Assist in medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN/LPN promptly.
• Complete delegated tasks from RN in a timely manner.
• Advocate for the patient by communicating with health service personnel.
• Complete required education and competencies on time.
• Cross-train to telemetry tech if department needs.
