Job summary

Ascension’s Carmel, IN facility seeks a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our Perinatal team.

You will implement care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary rounds, and ensure orders are executed while coordinating discharge needs with the care team. BLS and RN licensure required; ACLS/NRP/S.T.A.B.L.E. preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; basic life support credentialing.
• RN credentialed by Indiana Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Preferred: Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (AAP), S.T.A.B.L.E. Program.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Acts as primary coordinator of multidisciplinary care for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notates and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinates discharge planning needs with healthcare team.

• Schedule: Full Time Days | Work every 4th weekend rotation

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program credentialed from the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Must have at least 1 to 2 years of current or previous Labor and Delivery experience.
