Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent in Carmel, IN is seeking a perioperative nurse to join the preop, PACU and phase 2 team. This full-time day-shift role delivers comprehensive nursing care in the operative setting, supports scrub and circulating functions, and assists surgeons with a range of intraoperative tasks.

The position requires Indiana RN licensure and current ACLS or BLS certification. You will prepare operating rooms and equipment, monitor patient status across pre, intra, and post-operative

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• ACLS within 180 days of hire date or BLS within 30 days of hire date (AHA/Red Cross accepted).
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedures.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
