Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN, Interventional Radiology is seeking an experienced RN to support image-guided cardiovascular procedures.

You will assist physicians, monitor patients, administer moderate sedation, and ensure sterile field, with focus on safety and discharge planning. This role involves collaboration across radiology, surgical teams, and inpatient units within a value-driven health system.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided cardiovascular and diagnostic procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
• Administer moderate sedation, manage complex patient monitoring, and quickly react to changing clinical conditions in real time.
• Deliver specialized pre-procedure preparation, post-sheath removal recovery, and thorough access-site monitoring to ensure patient safety.
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education regarding procedure steps, sedation expectations, and post-discharge recovery guidelines.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care across radiology, surgical teams, and inpatient units to streamline patient flow and optimize discharge planning.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
