Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville is seeking a Radiology Technician to assist with interventional procedures and provide diagnostic support. You’ll prepare patients, position them correctly, and manage contrast media and medications within regulatory scope.

Responsibilities include radiation safety and performing advanced imaging procedures, under supervision of Radiologist/Physician Assistant. The role requires BLS and appropriate radiology credentials, with education options ranging

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date; required by AHA or ARC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
• Prepare and position patients and select parameters; prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope and regulations.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and monitor protocols, updating as needed.
• Perform specialized imaging procedures such as angio and other interventional tasks, assisting Radiologist/PA.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately, along with preparing and administering contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines and monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
• Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
