Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle, TX seeks a dedicated RN for the Intensive Care Unit. You will provide direct patient care on a night shift, 36 hours weekly across three 12-hour shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include implementing care plans, communicating changes to the care team, and maintaining precise EHR documentation. Minimum requirements include a Texas RN license, ACLS within 6 months, BLS within 30 days, and a nursing diploma.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• BLS within 1 month of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), following established clinical protocols to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, adjusting interventions to support recovery and clinical goals.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition changes to the interdisciplinary team for coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while maintaining compliant and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR).
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 1 year previous critical care experience preferred.
