Job summary

Ascension Providence in Waco, TX is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join the ICU team. You will provide comprehensive critical care, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid titration of life-sustaining infusions for unstable patients, with emphasis on airway management and invasive ventilation.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, ACLS within 6 months, BLS within 30 days, a nursing diploma, and a commitment to ATCN/TNCC protocols. Schedule is full-time day shift.

• Provide comprehensive critical care, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid titration of life-sustaining infusions for unstable medical, surgical, and cardiac patients.
• Manage advanced airway support, invasive mechanical ventilation, and point-of-care diagnostics while responding immediately to patient decompensation and code situations.
• Perform initial trauma assessment, resuscitation, and stabilization for incoming trauma patients in alignment with ATCN/TNCC protocols prior to emergent transfer.
• Coordinate interfacility transfers to Level 1 or 2 trauma and specialty centers, ensuring continuous stabilization, detailed handoffs, and regulatory compliance.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
