Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER at St. Joseph’s Hospital South in Riverview, FL. This full-time position involves varying shifts, including every other weekend, with on-site, in-person duties.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor or higher in Nursing.
• 1 year ER nursing experience.
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA).
• ACLS certification (AHA).
• PALS certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of patients in the ER using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate patient care activities to healthcare team members.
• Plan and update care in collaboration with patients and family.
• Monitor patient vitals and assessments and communicate with the care team.
• Respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain professional accountability and development.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
