Job summary

BayCare in Winter Haven is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates must hold an RN license with ER experience, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. The position is full-time, in-person with occasional weekend shifts and day/evening hours to support patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ER using nursing processes and clinical standards
• Delegate patient care activities as appropriate to the health care team

• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions
• Demonstrate professional accountability and ongoing development

• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Occasional weekend
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
