Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the ER. You will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment, assess patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an active RN license, nursing degree, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with at least 1 year ER experience. Shift runs 6:45 AM–7:15 PM; on-site, with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• At least 1 year ER nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification from AHA/Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a hospital ER setting using nursing process.
• Delegate tasks to health care team and coordinate care plans.
• Monitor vitals, identify changes, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain professional accountability and communicate clearly with patients and families.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
