Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Nights shift, Full-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse in Waco, TX. You will deliver rapid, high-acuity emergency care with continuous monitoring for diverse patient populations and assist physicians with bedside diagnostics and interventional procedures.

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program or active Texas RN license; ALS and BLS credentials are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing prior to start date or current RN license to practice in Texas, or multi-state license via nurse licensure compact.
• ASHP-ABL or equivalent ALS within 6 months of hire; BLS_provider within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rapid, high-acuity emergency care with continuous monitoring for diverse patient populations.
• Perform rapid triage, primary and secondary trauma assessments, and emergency stabilization per Level 4 trauma protocols.
• Administer emergency medications, manage IV/IO access, and assist physicians with bedside diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Prepare, stabilize, and coordinate urgent inter-facility transfers for critical patients needing higher level specialty care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (GN) obtained prior to start date or job transfer date is required-OR-Temporary or Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date-OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
