Job summary

Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to join a night shift, full-time schedule (36 hours over 3 shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) with rotating weekends. The role emphasizes direct patient care, care planning, and interprofessional coordination within a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing or professional licensure at time of hire.
• RN credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 6 months of hire date; BLS within 1 month; Pediatric ALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care as an RN following clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; assess and adjust interventions to support recovery.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring high-quality outcomes while following clinical protocols, safety standards, and patient-centered care practices.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, assessing patient conditions and adjusting interventions to support recovery, continuity of care, and overall patient outcomes.
• Coordinate care across the interdisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication, seamless care coordination, and improved patient experience throughout the healthcare continuum.
• Document and communicate patient status using Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting compliance, safety, and quality improvement initiatives.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

• 3 year previous emergency department experience preferred.
