Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East) at the Main Campus-Glick. The role involves bedside nursing in a high-acuity oncology setting, with IV meds, transfusions, and palliative care support in a dedicated 30-bed unit.

Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on bonus up to 10,000 is offered for qualifying experience, with comprehensive benefits and OPERS retirement participation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds
