Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced RN to join the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East) at MetroHealth Main Campus. The unit handles inpatient oncology care with cross-training for Bone Marrow Transplant, IV therapy, transfusions, and pain management, in a setting with modern telemetry and lifts.

You will work a rotating 7a-7p/7p-7a schedule with weekends and holidays rotating. Ohio RN license and BLS are required, with 1 year of RN experience for PRN; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)!

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds
