Job summary

MetroHealth invites applications for an RN on the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East) at the Main Campus- Glick location. The shift is 7a-7p/7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays, and bi-weekly hours total 72.

A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualifying experience. MetroHealth offers comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, and OPERS retirement as a public employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS for health care providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East).
• Administer IV medications, blood products, and manage pain.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, and physicians.

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)!

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
