Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus - Glick Acute Care Oncology Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide inpatient care on 3 East. You will administer IV therapies, blood product transfusions, and manage pain for oncology patients while coordinating care with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers.

Shifts are 7a–7p or 7p–7a with rotating weekends and holidays. Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for qualifying experience; MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, and comprehensive

Qualifications

• RN must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN license is required.
• AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide IV medication therapy and administer transfusions as ordered.
• Manage pain and deliver Hospice/palliative care as appropriate.
• Obtain Chemotherapy Certification for unit-specific practice.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and delegation in daily care.

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)!

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
