Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East) at the MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. The RN handles IV therapy, transfusions, and pain management, with opportunities to obtain chemotherapy certification.

Rotating shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a) with rotating weekends/holidays, bi-weekly hours totaling 72.00. There is a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for qualifying experience and a strong benefits package including OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or in process of accreditation.
• Current RN license in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare providers or within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN clinical experience.
• PRN must have all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide IV therapy and blood product transfusions, manage pain.
• Deliver hospice and palliative care as part of oncology care.
• Ability to obtain chemotherapy certification and apply it on unit.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and delegated leadership.

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)!

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
