Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus—Glick is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East). You will care for inpatients with oncology needs, participate in chemotherapy support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and experience; a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for qualifying experience. PRN options are described; rotating shifts 7a–7p and 7p–7a with rotating weekends/holidays provide varied coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• IV medication therapy and blood product transfusion administration.
• Pain management and symptom control for oncology patients.
• Hospice and palliative care support.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking and delegation.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)!

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
