Job summary

Yoh is seeking a Registered Nurse for a contract (PTO Coverage) assignment in Detroit, MI. Shifts are 7am-5pm, Tuesday through Friday, from 10/19 to 12/4. You will evaluate patient care needs, perform nursing assessments, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Active RN licensure in the state and current BLS/ACLS training are required. This role includes occupational health duties, medication administration, and detailed medical record

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary care, ER, occupational health clinic or ambulatory care.
• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required.
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required.
• Hands-on training in BLS; ACLS may also be required depending on contract scope.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
• Conduct nursing assessments including history, physical exam, vital signs, and tests; provide care within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner to arrange further treatment if needed.
• Identify equipment needing repair and notify lead clinician.
• Perform occupational health screenings (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Conduct labs and quality control procedures.
• Document all elements of nursing assessments, treatments, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Provide health education and instruction to patients.
• Identify emergencies and provide care within legal scope of practice.
• Administer medications and medical treatments as directed by a Physician or LIP.
• Maintain medical records, potentially using EMR software.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment with infection control procedures.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Participate in follow-up calls and visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Uses nursing skills to evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
• Conducts a nursing assessment by taking a patient history and physical assessment and by obtaining vital signs and other medical tests. Provides treatment within scope of practice as defined by state law.
• Collaborates with Physician or other Licensed Independent Practitioner to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
• Identifies equipment that needs repair and brings it to the attention of the lead clinician.
• Performs occupational and health screening tests as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Conducts appropriate laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
• Documents accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow up care arranged.
• Evaluates health education/promotion needs of patients and provides necessary training and instruction.
• Identifies emergency situations and provides care within legal scope of practice.
• Administers medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner.
• Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
• Maintains a clean and safe environment. Follows infection control procedures.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.
• Participates in follow up phone calls and follow up patient visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an primary care, emergency room, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care
• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred.
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Current hands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
