Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist for the West Hospital's Women’s Imaging Center. You will perform breast imaging and DEXA scans, assist radiologists, and ensure patient safety and proper documentation in our imaging department.

The role requires ARRT Diagnostic Radiology certification, and Mammography registration (preferred or within 1 year). State licensure and BLS may be required depending on site.

Qualifications

• Certification and registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography (preferred, or must obtain within 1 year).
• State licensure (preferred, unless required by state).
• BLS CPR from American Heart Association (required at hire for some Mercy locations; differs by site).
• 1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Conveys patient history to the licensed provider prior to examination.
• Operates breast imaging equipment and selects appropriate technique factors.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Ensures patient safety during all mammographic procedures.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
